Panhandle Seedling Program

The Panhandle Seedling Program (PSP) is a reliable source of high quality native conifer seedlings at affordable prices for local landowners and forest managers.

PSP is comprised of four conservation districts in the panhandle of Idaho - Kootenai-Shoshone, Benewah, Bonner and Boundary - who have joined together to offer residents in their counties locally sourced seedlings.

We contract with an inspected professional nursery to grow seedlings two years in advance of delivery. All funds received from sales go back into the program ensuring a sustainable program.

Benefits of a locally led program:

  • Quality Control - Ensuring seeds are properly sourced for the Idaho Panhandle’s soil, climate and elevation

  • Flexibility - Ability to adjust to the changing landscape and needs of landowners

  • Expertise/Experience - Professional foresters with extensive knowledge of commercial and small landowner timber needs

Disclosure

Due to the nature of growing at times there will be shortages. When possible, a comparable seedling of the same species will be substituted. This may mean a slightly smaller or larger plug. If we are unable to secure an acceptable alternative, you may choose a refund or to have your order held and filled first the following year.
